Field mission in Abisko: what about under-ice water?

In March 2025, two researchers of GET (O.S. Pokrovsky and L. Orgogozo) and two master students (A. Scamacca and B. Emery) were engaged in a field mission in late winter period in Arctic Sweden, for studying the chemical state of under-ice water in small ponds in the boreal peatlands around the Abisko Scientific Research Station. Clues about winter transport processes in the area are anticipated from this field work, to be used for setting up permaFoam simulations of the sub-surface transfers in this area.
